2010 Vasavi Jayanthi Celebrations
The 2010 Vasavi Jayanthi Celebrations went very well under the guidance of the temple priests and Smt. Kumari.
The Vasavi Jayanthi was celebrated at Guruvayaruppan/Krishna Temple, Morganville, NJ on May 22. Inspite of several programs/events going on at the same time, it was attended by more than 150 people.
There were a few new families who were excited to join the Vasavi family.
This year Vasavi Sahasranamam was recited for the first time under the guidance of Smt. Kumari. All the ladies performed the puja by using 9 different items. They performed using Pasupu, Kumkuma, Gandham, Akshintalu, Flowers, Cashews, Almonds, Raisins and Nalla Poosalu while reciting the Mandeepa Varnana for 9 times.
The puja was followed by dinner.
Thanks to all volunteers for bringing in the food and helping set up the food.
Without their help this event would not have happened.
